GDPR: Important Changes to Data Protection Law

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on the 25th May 2018, replacing the existing data protection framework under the EU Data Protection Directive.
As a regulation, it had ‘direct effect’, addressing any organization involved in data processing of any sort and imposing strict requirements on the gathering, storage, use and deletion of personal data. The GDPR emphasises transparency, security and accountability by data controllers and processors, while at the same time standardising and strengthening the right of European citizens to data privacy. Hanna Moore + Curley welcomes the new Regulation and has prepared fully to comply with its requirements.

We communicated with all our newsletter and marketing contacts outlining the enhanced rights under GDPR and to ensure that we have express permission to continue to recieve our useful newsletters.
